A HUGE granite block donated by a Welsh quarry has been erected in Tidworth and dedicated to members of 2 Royal Welsh who have lost their lives on operations.
The stone was erected outside the regimental HQ at Lucknow Barracks.
"This is something we haven't been able to do before because the unit moved about so much," said commanding officer Lt Col James swift.
But now that the soldier are based in Tidworth for much longer it was felt that this was the right thing to do.
The memorial stone has provided the base for an inscribed sundial.
