Hundred Acre intechange costs
ANDOVER Airfield developers Goodman have issued a statement to clarify where the figure of £8.8 million for the construction of the new junction at the proposed development has come from.
"The junction costs £4.9m plus a sum for maintenance of £1 which we have to pay over to the county," said Goodman spokesman Jason Harris.
"When we start work we have to provide a bank bond which guarantees the completion of the project should we or the contractor default.
"The amount of this bond is £8.8m which covers the costs of the county council having to get a new contractor in to complete the work and contains a contingency in case it costs more."
The statement has been seen by Hampshire County Council who have confirmed that they have no problem' with it.
